Versettla Bahn Gaschurn car park
With the Versettla Bahn Gaschurn, you cover the first altitude meters with the gondola up to the middle station. You hike along the forest road through wooded areas with a gentle ascent to Lifinarmaisäß. From there you go back a short way from the path and then turn right into the Garneratal. On the way you enjoy the first view of the Maisäß on Ganeu, which is located slightly above the municipality of Gaschurn. After a short forest section, the Garneratal opens before you - an impressive idyllic valley. The Garnerabach meanders through the valley. You continue hiking along the Garnerabach into the valley. After about 1 hour of walking time, you reach the Alpe Garnera above the hiking trail. The Alpe Garnera offers regional delicacies from early July to early September. The traditional "Sura Kees" and other delicacies can be tasted or purchased here. After the refreshment, the descent begins. At first, you follow the same way back. A few meters after the customs hut you reach a signpost. Now follow the signpost in the direction of Ganeu and continue hiking along the Garnerabach. After about 30 minutes, you reach the Maisäß on Ganeu. For those who are surefooted and not afraid of heights, the descent via the Fenggatobel (gorge path) is suitable. Be careful when descending. Otherwise, follow the road further and reach Gaschurn again via serpentines. Both descents take about an hour until you reach the valley station of the Versettla Bahn.
Carry a backpack with food and drinks as well as rain or sun protection.
Hiking boots with good tread are necessary.
